SMHA's Vision

In southern Louisiana, in a land that has been rich with cypress swamps and fertile fields, we are so positioned on earth to be stewards of its environmental assets. Yet, in numerous Louisiana communities we are not nourished through the vitality of our soils, the quality of the air we breathe, and the richness of our waters.

If we can bring about profound change in the lives of people and communities in South Louisiana, we can create pathways to do likewise throughout the region and the nation.

Emerging market conditions bring with them opportunities and urgency. The position of Louisiana is increasingly global. If assets are to be had by all members of the population, we must ensure that they are affordable. What we build now will allow individuals to grow wealth in their families for generations to come.

We have forged unorthodox partnerships across all segments of communities. The coalitions have affected real change. Our partners are poised to step forward with us.

A strategic investment in Southern Mutual Help Association at this time will yield ever increasing returns. We have a window of opportunity, and we cannot afford to hesitate. The need in South Louisiana is great, our partners are ready, and the future holds true promise.
