Hurricane Isaac and the Disturbance of the BP Oil Spill
Louisiana is particularly concerned about the impending hurricane.
New Orleans is especially sensitive at this time due to the Katrina Anniversary arrival of Isaac.
Southern Mutual Help is additionally and deeply concerned because of the disturbance of the BP oil that was driven to the bottom of the Gulf by the dispersants. Each tropical storm or hurricane stirs up that sunken mass and damages the fisheries (especially the oyster beds) and harms both the economy and the ecology of Louisiana's coastal waters and fragile shoreline, not to mention the health and welfare of the diverse communities affected.
No media presentation has dealt with this deep concern.
