Southern Mutual Help Association, Inc.'s (SMHA) Long-Time Construction Director, Lurcy Marceaux, Retires
Gary Derouen, new Construction Director, and Lurcy Marceaux
Lurcy has been Construction Director for SMHA for over 20 years. His untiring dedication to rural families led him to oversee construction and redevelopment of over 300 units. Lurcy helped rural communities recover after the three hurricanes of 2005 and 2008.
As part of SMHA's Founders to Future initiative, Lurcy trained a new Construction Director, Gary Derouen, who has worked with SMHA for many years and is highly respected in the field.
Lurcy will volunteer for SMHA in his retirement after he and his wife Priscilla travel to Nova Scotia, origin of our Cajun people in Acadiana.
