On January 26th, 2005, MidSouth Bank branch managers and loan officers hosted and provided lunch for Southern Mutual Help Association, Inc. (SMHA) and Southern Mutual Financial Services, Inc. (SMFS) employees to discuss SMHA's Homeownership and Family and Community Development Programs. As part of the Louisiana Rural Home Loan Partnership, MidSouth Bank can refer clients to SMHA and SMFS who might not otherwise qualify for a loan. MidSouth employees were excited to hear that SMHA and SMFS never say "no" to families. Instead, SMHA and SMFS work with families to fix credit, raise income, and take steps towards being home ownership ready.
SMHA staff is working closely with MidSouth employees to help three families realize the dream of homeownership!
MidSouth Bank, under the leadership of Rusty Cloutier, has generously provided SMHA and SMFS with an EQ2 grant of $75,000, grant dollars of $25,000 and most recently, $500,000 in renewable, below market interest rate loan monies to help capitalize SMFS.
