Marilyn Dore, Loan Officer & CRA Officer of Washington State Bank, became acquainted with SMHA in 2001 when Washington State Bank became a member of the Louisiana Rural Home Loan Partnership and is the loan officer assigned to handle the affordable housing product.
Marilyn is an active supporter of SMHA's programs. She served on the Advisory Council of Southern Mutual Financial Services, became a certified Homeownership Counseling Trainer in 2001 and Washington State Bank's CRA officer in May 2002.

The first home loan she closed through the partnership was for the Siverand family in 2001 who were living in a converted tool shed. This grandmother, mother and daughter had no indoor plumbing.
The Partnership was able to move them into a newly renovated home - which brought tears of joy all around!
Marilyn is responsible for nine families becoming first time homeowners through Washington State Bank.
The direct investment in the homes is $756,610 for an economic impact of 1.9 million dollars in the St. Landry Parish area.
