We at SMHA are truly saddened to learn of Sandy's death.
Sandy understood how important it was for an intermediary to highlight the organizations in Rural LISC that work on the front lines of our common mission.
She loved rural communities and the folks in them. Her indefatigable energy on behalf of Rural America gave us a sense that we are part of something important, something integral to America being a great country.
She fought for fairness in policy, in funding, in having a voice about issues in our own daily lives and perspectives.
She embodied an unyielding hope that was contagious.
That was a right fine gift to us facing tough rows to hoe in the deep South.
