Judy Herring (right), SMHA’s Rural Recovery Response (RRR) coordinator returns to help the West End flood recovery efforts.  Judy organized many volunteers to recover over 1,000 homes, businesses and churches during the devastating hurricanes.
Although Judy is retired and living in Arkansas, she returned to SMHA to help coordinate the efforts to get the homes in West End back to livable conditions after the August flooding, where 70% of the West End community was flooded.
Judy guided the community so that they could continue the work after she returned home.

NeighborWorks’ James Ross and Hillary Rowe (both far left) visited the West End to get a first hand look at the devastation in the community and see the progress of the community and leaders, who pulled together and immediately helped their neighbors without outside help.
