SMFS: We Are Qualified

Although SMFS is a new Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), its leadership is impressive: a Loan Officer whose ten-year connection with SMHA was formed through her work to revitalize her impoverished rural African-American community, and a Board Treasurer with over thirty years' experience in business and rural community development. SMFS’s Loan Committee provides oversight for the lending process, the Audit/Finance Committee provides oversight for the corporate finances, and the Advisory Council brings the needs and wants of the community to SMFS.

Did You Know?

Our Bank President was recently appointed to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas Advisory Committee. The FHLB helps provide affordable housing and economic development across five southern states.

SMFS' Volunteer and Consultant Carrie Curet, serves on the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas Advisory Committee.
