Help SMHA purchase building materials for people who lost everything in the hurricanes to repair their homes.

Virginia Ratliff and Sheila Kryston are two very special volunteers from Virginia EcoVillage. They came down in October after Hurricanes Rita and Katrina to help gut and renovate a family’s home that had been partially destroyed and completely flooded. The family has seven adopted special-needs children.

When they returned home, Virginia and Sheila organized a fundraiser, collecting quilts by artisans up north who wanted to help out. All proceeds from the sale of these quilts will directly benefit the rural recovery work of Southern Mutual Help Association, Inc. The money will be used to purchase building materials for people who have lost everything in the storms to repair their homes.

All purchases will be accompanied by a short biography of the artist.
